Our 2026|2027 production year marks Bare Bait Dance's 16th season in Missoula, MT. BBD is a full-season professional contemporary dance company, presenting fully produced concerts, workshops series, weekly classes, a film festival, and more. Company Members not only perform, but also have the opportunity to choreograph, teach, and tour. The company focuses on a contemporary modern dance aesthetic with the integration of physical theater, dance theater, and interdisciplinary performance.
We are seeking experienced dancers with strong technical, artistic, and creative abilities for our upcoming production season with performance opportunities August 2026 - April 2027.

MISSON
Bare Bait Dance with Westside Theater commits to nurturing the development, education, and presentation of the performing arts in Western Montana, particularly celebrating dance and contemporary performance.
We hope to reflect the diversity in our region and the field of contemporary dance on a whole.
We encourage BIPOC, LGBTQ+, Two-spirit, & Gender diverse dancers to audition.
TIMELINE
Wednesday, May 6 | 11:59pm: deadline to complete the Audition Registration form and in-person online waivers
Thursday, May 7 | 6-9pm | : In-Person Audition
Audition Location: Westside Theater - 1200 Shakespeare St, Ste 2, Missoula, MT
On or before Friday, June 5: All auditionees will be notified.
2026 | 2027 Hiring
+ Full Company Member position, available for all of the production season and M/W/F weekly rehearsals
» 2026|2027: one Full-Season Company Member position open
+ Guest Performers hired on a show-to-show basis depending on casting need
» 2026|2027: multiple Guest Performer positions open
+ Apprentices are generally high school or recent high school graduates and are included in 2-3 season productions and rehearse M/Th
» 2026|2027: two to three Apprentice positions open
+ University of Montana Performance Interns are current UM students (undergraduate or grad) who perform with BBD on a show-by-show basis depending on schedule availability and casting need
» 2026|2027: one to two UM Intern positions open
